“Il Papa dei giorni futuri” - The Pope of future days - on the scenes of the film
Jean-Jacques Annaud, after seven years and a successful career, including the direction of "Seven Years in Tibet", returns behind the camera with a reconstruction of the day of 15 April 2019, in which a terrible fire involved the entire Notre Dame Cathedral, in Paris.
A dramatic event, recounted with the mastery of a great director, in a film that places ad hoc footage alongside original images shot by those who witnessed the tragedy in person.
A film starring Samuel Labarthe, Jérémie Laheurte, Daniel Horn, Elodie Navarre, Maximilien Seweryn.
In "Notre Dame Brulè" we relive the difficulty of those hours, torn between the emergency of fighting a fire that seems implacable and the importance of saving the precious treasures kept in the cathedral.
These include the gold-cover book “Il Papa dei giorni futuri” -The Pope of future days- on display in the Treasury Hall.
The book, published in 2003, is the official biography of Pope John Paul II. It is the second book created by D'ORO Collection on request of the Pope, after the first theological text entitled “Dio” -God-.
“Il Papa dei giorni futuri” -The Pope of future days- was printed in a limited edition of 1,499 copies. One of these was donated by the Vatican, on behalf of Pope John Paul II, to the Treasures of Notre Dame, on the occasion of His Holiness' Pilgrimage to Lourdes (France) in 2004, and displayed in the Treasury Hall.
Today, “Il Papa dei giorni futuri” -The Pope of future days- is among the masterpieces rescued on 15 April 2019.
Many thanks to all the fire brigade teams who worked uninterruptedly to preserve the Cathedral.
