D'ORO Collection Presents The Grand Voyage in Frankfurt, A Fusion of Art and Technology

D'ORO Collection and the B3 Biennale of Frankfurt are proud to announce the launch of "The Grand Voyage", the new D’ORO D’ART project in collaboration with Federico Solmi.
This innovative art project, conceived by Salvatore Giorgio Dino, founder and CEO of D'ORO Collection, is set to captivate the city of Frankfurt -and not only- with its unique blend of traditional bookmaking and video art.
"The Grand Voyage" will be presented from 18 to 22 October during the B3 Biennale of the Moving Image.
"The Grand Voyage" is a one-of-a-kind artistic journey that dissolves reality into a digital realm. Federico Solmi, a contemporary luminary in the world of video art, creates characters that live in a double dimension: physically vivid brushstroke portraits and digital videos that blend humor and contemplation. These characters navigate a computer-generated universe, donning costumes from different eras in one-minute loops, reflecting mythology and contemporary culture. The unexpected takes viewers on a journey where time, dimensions, and geography are lost, only to be rediscovered.
The characters are three: The Goddess, disguised as Cleopatra; The Wizard, dressed in a 16th-century nobleman's costume and The Wanderer with the appearance of a medieval warrior from an early 20th-century cinematic film.
D'ORO D'ART is a pioneering project curated by Barbara London, a renowned curator and writer who, for many years, served as the Curator in the Department of Media and Performance Art at The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York City and Valentino Catricalà an Italian curator and art critic currently in charge as curator of SODA Gallery in Manchester and lecturer at Manchester Metropolitan University.
Each D'ORO D'ART book is a physical masterpiece housing a work of video art that springs to life the moment the book's cover is opened. This innovative fusion, made possible through state-of-the-art software and hardware, offers a unique canvas for contemporary artists to push the boundaries of creative expression.
