22 Years of D'ORO Collection
On Friday evening, Salvatore Giorgio Dino opened the doors of the D'ORO Collection headquarters, immersed in the greenery of Via Appia Antica, to celebrate 22 years of his publishing house.
Guests arrived from all over the world to celebrate D'ORO and to personally wish all the best to Salvatore, who celebrated his 40th birthday on 29 May.
Salvatore Giorgio Dino founded D'ORO Collection when he was just 18 years old, as a natural continuation of a family tradition that began in 1965, making it the only Italian publishing house specialising in limited edition, handmade works. Today the company boasts numerous recognitions and collaborations: the latest among these are the Marian Goodman Gallery in New York, a partner in the development of D'ORO D'ART, and Automobili Lamborghini for whom the second edition of the official book, DNA Lamborghini II Edition, was published.
Parked in the garden of the villa was an orange-coloured Huracán STO, among the latest cars described in the book. Among the guests were well-known faces from the Lamborghini management and Antonio Ghini, author of the book together with Kate Singleton, co-author and responsible for the English version.
A party that began at sunset and ended late at night, in an itinerary that combined pleasure and culture. On the first floor of Villa Dino, the newly-arranged D'ORO Collection museum showed the historical and non-historical titles in a new perspective, highlighting the phases of creation and the works dedicated to the heads of state. A special area was also created where to browse through the works.
To highlight the fine line between craftsmanship and art, our calligrapher enchanted guests by writing their names on a bookmark. An ancient practice that today has become something magical and never seen before.
A hymn to Made in Italy, as a concept of innovation aimed at preserving the handmade works.
This was the message that Salvatore wanted to convey: going on stage with his wife Marina, he personally expressed this in a profound speech, which retraced 22 years of his career and concluded by emphasising the importance of affection: friends and family. His most heartfelt thanks to Marina, who has always been at his side and with whom he celebrated 20 years of marriage.
Then, like in all parties, the time came for cutting the cake, a composition of gold-coloured books inspired by D'ORO's works.
